About us

Preface

The Büngern-Technik in Rhede (Westf.) workshop for people with disabilities started its development, production, and marketing of wooden toys in 1982. The workshop is run by the Caritasverband für das Dekanat Bocholt e.V..

We sell high-quality, durable, and educationally valuable toys with a good reputation in Germany, Europe, and many other countries around the world under the brand name of fagus.

About 135 people with many different disabilities receive an opportunity for adequate vocational education and employment at appropriate wages by producing these special toys. At the same time, they receive an opportunity to maintain or recover their performance or employment capability while developing their personalities.

Actively practised sustainability and charity are embodied in our highquality products and associated with us and our fagus brand.

Fagus leading principles

For Fagus, producing long-lived toys is an expression of appreciation for children and the environment for fagus as well. It sets the fagus brand apart from other manufacturers.

The fagus brand stands for:

  • Manual craftsmanship by people with disabilities in Germany · Wood from sustainable forestry in Germany
  • High playing value, certified safety
  • High-quality workmanship
  • Sustainability on all levels, from product development, production, and environmentally friendly packaging to repair and spare parts service

The core of our fagus brand

"fagus wooden toys" represents the provision of meaningful jobs for people with disabilities, enabling individual development through manual work to let them feel that they are an important part of the community.
Their work produces high-quality wooden toys which in shape and workmanship alike focus on children and their needs in shape and workmanship alike. This way, fagus achieves multiple benefits for its employees, for parents and children, and for society as a whole.
